I'm looking for an affordable stereo hot shoe mic for my 5DMkII, for hobbyist use. I have read reviews that say the low output of many mics results in hiss due to high gain required to boost sound.
The Audio-Technica PRO24CM looks good, but seems to have this problem. Any experience with this mic, or recommendations for another model?
I like my Sennheiser shotgun, but it is mono.
