transfering - FireWire to USB?

hey.
i recently purchased the Canon ZR500.
in order to transport the video to my PC i need a DV wire aka FireWire (IEEE 1394).
i searched my PC a bit and im not sure if i have the correct port..

so, if i'll connect a DV cable to the ZR500 with a USB exit - connected to my PC - will it still work?
if not, is there another solution that i can possibly use?
