First shot was on AWB and the second was set to cloudy. Colours seem more vibrant in cloudy. Just curious how often everyone else plays with white balance?

Dan

I tend to ignore the camera settings and adjust in Raw Shooter Essentials. It takes seconds instead of fiddling about in situ. There's enough to remember!

The second shot you posted is a hell of a difference...very nice :)

Thanks Martin and bachscuttler, there is so much to learn!

I actually think the first one looks more natural.
The second pic has a "warm" cast which IMHO tends to envelop the picture.

Maybe something in between. I'd take #2 and pp the yellow down a notch.

I think and ajustment to the orange/sepia color in the background (slightly lighter) would make a difference, everything else looks great in your second attempt, but the background color that matches the bird distract my eye from the bird.....

Nice shot of thebird Dan. What bird is it? The fledgling robin?
I like #3 the best.
