Went to Vegas last weekend and, with the exception of the prolonged drive home, it was an enjoyable trip.

Took these while I was there. Nothing to write home about, but I thought I'd share them. With the exception of the shot in front of the Mirage, everything was hand-held. Not sure of all the EXIF:

I liked the contrast of the color against the night sky; Excalibur:

The Strip from about eight miles out:

I'm not real sure why I took this one. It's a fish tank in one of the hotels. My friend and I commented that these fish have only going in circles to look forward to for the rest of their lives. I was hoping one or two might buck the trend and make a u-turn, but no such luck:

As always, criticism and suggestions welcome...

I've never seen Vegas like that...
I have only been there once, but I'd like to go again if there were time :)

Nice work, Steve. My favorite is the fourth one too. For some perverse reason I am also attracted to the fish.

Very nice series of Lost Wages. 2 thru 4 are outstanding...crystal clear...well exposed.
How did you do the night shot?

Slapped it onto a tripod, connected the remote, put it on "P", and away we go. If I recall correctly, the exposure time was in the 2-4 second range. There were some that were as long as fifteen seconds and, while they weren't "bad", they did have some issues.

The helicopter, fish, and Excalibur were taken with the 50mm f/1.8. "The Strip" was shot with the 85mm f/1.8, and the Mirage was taken with the 20-35mm f/3.5-4.5.

Thanks for the comments everyone...

Steve
