The family and I spent a few days in southern Utah. We visited Goblin Valley State Park, Dead Horse Point State Park, and Arches National Park. Also in the area is the San Rafael Swell, managed by the BLM, but truly one of the gems of the state and deserving of protection offered by park status.
The day before we left I picked up a new tripod and head. Bogen 3021BPro and Manfrotto 3047. I shot everything using the tripod and bracketed every shot to allow for blending later in PS.
Two things I learned on this trip.
I NEED a true wide angle lens. Something like the 10-22 would be nice. My 28-105 is just too long for what I want to do.
Secondly, I need to print up some DOF charts for field reference. Trying to optimize DOF by guessing just doesn't work. I got lucky.
Here's a few I've had time to process. Enjoy!
