These are shots in Castlewood Park, St Louis MO. My buddy let me borrow his 10D and 28-135mm lens.

No post processing, straight out of the camera. Tell me what you think of my first shots and how I can improve.

It would be beneficial for you to put the pictures into your post. People don't like clicking on links eh

Anyways, technically they look decent. But they are lacking composition wise. Which is fine because when you're first starting it's important to just understand iso, fstop, focal point, af, mf etc!

Hey Patrick, can you post them in the thread for us?

Hey fellow Saint Louisan!

The sky is a tad blown in the first two photos, a CPL may help this issue. Gotta love STL skies...

Out of the whole bunch, I like the third photo most. The composition is the most interesting to me, and I like the beam of light on the plant.

I like the last photo also, but it seems just a little underexposed.

**We have a STL thread in the Urban Life/Travel section. Be sure to post some photos there, too! :)

last shot is great. could use some more saturation, but I like it the best.

I like where you were going with the framing on number 3. Maybe if you crop the top off, to just above the treeline it would tell a story of "life goes on" in this sort of dead season with the red berries.

Very nice work but IMO the colour need's increasing.
