My wife and I own a small piece of property here. We plan to spend much of our retirement on this beach.

Please critique or comment.

LUCKY! My mother is from the Philippines...from Giporlos, close to Tacloban. Ever since I visited the islands, I've dreamed of one day having property there.

About the photo---it is beautiful. Nice composition, the land in the background is really interesting, and I like how you can see people in the water in the foreground. Nice work!

Lindsay, you can own property if your mother is from the Philippines. You can be eligible for dual citizenship if you're not already. Shoot me a message if you want me to explain. Thanks for the comments. Jeff

Sweet capture! Love it! I am from Philippines also and someday I hope to buy a nice place by the beach too!

I love it... wish the clouds were a little crisper... but now I'm just knit picking lol.

Love the shot. I need to find a woman from the Philippines to adopt me. I'm still 48 (for a few months). Think I'm adoptable? Thanks for sharing!

Pretty nice sunset. You've got a lot of interest in it. I wonder how you'd like it if you cropped just above the first bank of clouds. The second could doesn't add to the image in my opinion. I know that it would bring you close to dividing the image in half with the horizon. But I think the foreground interest and the silhouetted island reduce the impact of this compositional "error".

Thank you to those who critiqued or commented.

Jodelak: Work hard, save money & buy your beach as soon as possible, the beachfront prices for property are going up, up, up every year. I love your homeland and its people. Best of luck and mabuhay!

Pickupman92: I might sharpen the clouds a bit, thank you for your suggestion.

ScottCooper: Just go for a visit, you'll find a Filipina to adopt you. Don't believe what you read about the Philippines in regards to safety. It's only one island out of the 7,100 islands that make up the Philippines that has a real problem.
Thanks again,
Jeff

Beautiful sunset! I really like the way you framed it.
