Well, I should have known everyone else was working on the same thing. This is a shot with the 7D, 100-400 and 1.4xTC. Sun was still up, but with contrast work, etc., it doesn't look like it. I'm curious which one is preferred. They have completely different processing.

Yes, I know I could crop them more. Thanks for looking.

as you said, i think you should crop them and see what happen. both pictures look super sharp and the craters are shown really well!

I would like to see a crop version but since you ask....eny, meny, miny, mo, I'll pick #2. Seems like you can see a little more detail on this one, good job!

Actually, I would like a little time to improve my PP. I'm unhappy with the look of my full crop images right now. I don't know if it is the DNG converter, or what, but they don't look right. I'll work on them. Thanks again for the comments. By the way, the second one had a little better contrast, so shows the detail better. That's my choice too.

Ok. A couple of you asked for full crop. Here's a full crop 1024x768 jpged down to forum limit (6). I don't like it, but this is what I have. I don't use any noise software yet (I'm cheap), but that's obviously going to have to happen at some point.
Same image as above (#2), cropped from full in ACR. I think I'll go work on one from #1 and see how it looks.

wow. It looks really impressive. You should use a tripod to get the lSO lower so that you don't need as much pp in noise.

Check the exif. That is as low as it goes at ISO 100. Yes, a tripod was used, hence the 10 second timer mentioned.
