I've speant many hours reading articles/posts and I wanted to make sure I'm getting the proper equipment before clicking the "order" button.

I want to start using off camera SpeedLights on light stands with umbrellas before moving over to something like AlienBees Strobes.

I have a Canon 550 EX and 430EX speedlight.

Since neither of my Speedlights have a PC Sync port, I know I need an adapter but I'm getting a little confused on the adapter/cabels I might need.

Here is what I was planning on buying.

- Impact Digital Flash Unbrella Mount Kit-Includes 2 Impact 32" umbrellas, Brackets, Light Stands

- Alien Bees(Paul C. Buff) CyberSync CST (Trigger)
- 2 Alien Bees(Paul C. Buff) CyberSync CSRB+ (Receivers)
http://alienbees.com/remotes.html

-Alien Bees SLFA "Speed Light Foot Adapter"
http://alienbees.com/parts.html

My question is; will the CSRB+ receivers plug into the "Speed Light Foot Adapter" with the included cable or do I need to buy a special Cable?
Is there a better option in place of the "Speed Light Foot Adapter" from Alien Bees? I don't want my flash breaking off the light stand.

Thanks
PJ

Well, according to the Alien Bee website, the triggers come with all the cables you will need to plug into the Speed Light Foot Adapter.

I must have missed that part. Thanks Brosa911.

What about the Speedlite Foot Adapter itself. Is the one I listed above secure/stable/reliable?
I don't mind paying a little extra to know my lights are safe.

Thanks

I don't have any experience with the one you listed, but I am using the Deluxe Canon Hotshoe to Cybersync adapter from www.flashzebra.com part 0138. At $25 it's a bit more expensive, but the build quality is impressive.

Try two of these. http://www.flashzebra.com/products/0126/index.shtml I got one so far and I love using it because I can't lose the sync cord off the hotshoe adapter :) much easier than fumbling for the two.

I am going through this very exercise and selected the same items as you since I have the 430 EX. The only thing I would question is the CSRB+ as opposed to the CSRB, that's a $20 difference and I don't think you realize a benefit unless you actually use the Commander product.

From the flashzebra site, parts 126 and 138 both have the chord attached to the adapter. My only debate was did I want the corded adapter or not.
