Took this with the 50mm reversed to the camera. I was surprised that the little guy sat still long enough for me to actually take the picture :D

The thing I love about macros is that you see things you'd never be able to normally see. You've done an excellent job. Love the weird head.

Just so you know, it is not a dragonfly. It's a lacewing or damselfly, the larvae of which are antlions.

It is indeed a damselfly (Order Odonata, Suborder Zygoptera). But lacewings are a different beastie. They belong to the order Neuroptera, and the family of lacwings called Myrmeleontidae have ant-lion larvae - the adults of whihc can be similar to damselflies, but have longer, clubbed antennae.
Nice detailed pic.

sid, nice shot with the reversed 50. Just curious, did you use the shutter cover from the camera to make a housing for the 50, or attatch it some other way?
On a side note, how do you tell the difference between dragons and damsels?(thats for anyone)

Dragonflys and Damsels are easy to tell apart actually..
DamselFlys can and usually do fold there wings back as seen in the photo above...
A dragonfly on the otherhand ALLWAYS hold it's wings completely out stretched... they can not be folded back.
There are a number of other differences of course,. but this is the blatantly obvious and easiest way to know one from the other :)

Zach:
Sorry I didnt reply to this earlier, but I was out town all week.
To connect the reversed 50mm lens, I bought a reverse lens adapter from ebay. Cost me $13 including shipping from China. Works real good. I can post a picture later if you want
