i have a Rebel XT and im off on a trip to europe. i might have a problem with battery life due to high volume of shots and my 420 speed flash. i was looking for one of those bottom mounted battery packs. i was wondering what kind i need and is it worth buying the battery pack. or, should i just buy another battery like i have now and just keep them both charged?

thanks in advance for any help.

Just get the BG-E3 battery grip. Works fine, gives you a lot of power with two batteries installed. And really gives another feeling for the camera as well, plus the duplicate buttons for vertical shots. I love mine.

But bring your charger along, you do not want make a full trip with only two batteries, don't you ?

Exactly right on all counts. I am glad i picked mine up. I rarely have to charge my batteries with the BG-E3 grip.

I love my grip too...gives the camera a more solid feel too for those who like a little heavier weight. I wouldn't be without it.
