Zion Photos

Zion National Park is absolutely awe inspiring, enormous, and frankly, simply intense. It was only a brief trip ( 3 1/2 days total), but I was totally immersed in the glory of the place. We went up to Monument Valley, as well, and those shots will be posted at a later date (tomorrow, or Tuesday).

The first three shots are from the first day; we hiked up to where the Narrows start, but the water was so high and fast they'd closed it until July at least. Pity that, but still, a great walk. The shot of the storm approaching was taken on the second day, but thankfully it managed to move away from us before it let loose.

Nice colours in the last two and nice shape & form in the very last image, creates a lot of movement throughout the image...the one I probably like the most.

That last one is the one I really, really like. There are aspects in the others that I like, but the movement in the last one is what makes it special.

Thanks for the kind words, all. Nat, you really need to go; it's not too far at all, even with a child in tow. I'll have more shots posted over the next few days - I'm battling my computer for who's going to be in control...LOL!!! But more are forthcoming, and Sparker, I had an absolutely wonderful time.

I like the blue sky for contrast in the last one. For some reason they aren't all that sharp. Maybe it's the compression?

Brings back great memories of our trip there about 15 years ago. It is an amazing place and you captured it well!

I dunno. I'm such a novice I don't have a clue. I did run it through sharpening, so maybe I need to run them through again?
