Does anyone know if it's possible to use the vouchers issued with 20D's & 350D's with stuff bought from 7Dayshop?
They have a good price on the 1.4x Extender, and there is a £30 off voucher. The problem is I think (maybe wrong!) 7dayshop stuff is US stock, so will show up on barcode you have to send in with the voucher.

Unfortunately it looks like you won't be able to. A few people have contacted 7DayShop and Canon directly and they've said it's not valid.

aah nuts - cheers FatPete!

Has anyone seen a 1.4x for less than £239 that isn't at 7dayshop and is in the UK?

p.s. - mods feel free to move this thread to marketplace!

The promotion period is 15 March 2005 to 31 December 2005. The products...must have been bought in this period to be eligible for the Cash Back.

The promotion runs in the following 14 countries: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom. For the Cash Back to apply, the products on the above list must be purchased by an end-user in either of those countries.

Appears to be no probs with lenses bought in the Channel Islands if you're an end-user based in the UK. The wording doesn't suggest that the product itself must originate from those listed countries.

well on that basis I may as well give it a try - I just got one (well - it's been despatched from) from HK on ebay. I may as well send in the voucher - nothing to lose! £174.99 and I'll wait and see on the duty!

f.y.i. - sent off my voucher a month or so ago, and just got confirmation that I'll receive my cheque within 20 days! Not bad - £144.99 all-in for a brand new 1.4x II !

Yeah - sent mine 28th. Have to see when cheque turns up. I'm not fussed - thought it might get turned down anyway. I'm on the verge of getting a 300 f/4 L and sending that one in too!

Any known problems with buying from these Hong Kong distributors? Chances of using cash back vouchers?

From memory buying a lens from Hong kong will mean that you are unlikely to get the cashback money.

Could be wrong but I think you have to buy them in your own country/continent.

err... that's what this is about. Got my t-con from DigitalRev (HK) and just got confirmation of 'cheque in post'. :)
