hiya...
i would like to know if other people are havin problems with their 1DSmk2`s....i got one in february and after 3weeks the firewire port came loose, ie.when the cable is plugged in, it wil move left/right/up/down causing it to disconnect from the computer... canon replaced this for a new one and 2 weeks later the same thing happened so it went to canon and was fixed... today, after using it, on a tripod, for three days solid, the firewire port has now stopped working, it seems as if one of the pins in the port is bent...
i tend to shoot tethered most of the time; i am used to shooting with lightphase backs and have never had a problem with any firewire ports on them..i dont treat this camera any different to how i would treat a phase1 back..im told these cameras are built for professionals using them in any terrain or enviroment, but it seems to me there has been a complete lack of design by canon in this aspect cos a.why not use a 6pin solid port, b.when shooting landscape the weight of the cable is on the port, and c.shooting portrait the cable practically drops out.......
i think it is a design fault but canon tell me im the only owner in the uk who has had these problems and obviously canon arent about to admit anything...... do any of you have any experience of all this??!
