Okay, first off, I confess that I'm a newbie at this camera stuff.

I've just been getting my bearings with my new camera and so far haven't had many problems. Well, other than the pictures I seem to be taking are huge when I view them on the PC. And forget about attaching them to an email. The pictures are about the size of a poster board. Yikes!

I've read the manual over and over and over and I'm still lost in clueless land. Can anyone help me on getting the pictures to a size of a 3x5" or 4x6" picture?

Thanks!

You've got a great camera that takes very large resolution pictures (up to 2240x1640). The benefit of this is that you can print photo quality prints up to 8x10 (probably even bigger). Because your monitor's screen resulution settings are probably around 1024x768 or less, your image will be over twice the size of your screen. If you load ZoomBrowser from the Canon Camera Solutions disk, it lets you look at the pictures in smaller resolutions so that they will fit on your monitor. ZB also has a compression function in it's "Send image(s) by email" function so that you can compress them to a size that is suitable for screen viewing. The other option you have is to change the resolution in the camera's camera mode menu to S (Small) so that the image size will be a good size for screen viewing right after you download the images.

I hope this helps!

Hi Smallhaven,

You'll have to reduce them in size in a program like Photoshop or similar. The smallest size most digital cameras will take I think is 640x480 pixels (don't know what that is in inches) so if you want smaller than that you will have to load them into an image editor and either crop the part you want or reduce the physical size of the image.

I want the S45 very bad. As soon as best buy gets it in, I will be trading my S30 in with my performance plan for it.
