Hi, here's a uastion to all of the photobiz.com ppl.
I 've been with them for 4 months now and I just can't live with the bad image quality that takes place when I upload my images to my website. They look compressed and just dull... I do follow EVERY possible image uploading intruction out there, and it's still not as sharp as my photobucket posts on this forum. Am I missing something or is it time to switch?

Weird, a lot of those images DO look compressed and choppy. Maybe it is time for a switch, I wonder why that happens. Perhaps the website is resizing for you in order to load the images faster.
I just thought you were being overly critical ;) damn good images, can barely notice if you aren't really looking.

Thanks, KJ, i was beginning to think that im the only crazy one... I dont understand how a web service that has to be all about the photos, allows such cell phone quality.. Ughh:/

I tried smugmug and its not what i am looking for. The iq is ok but its gimmicky. I need/want custom templates like in photobiz but with good iq...

Misha - your site looks great (obviously your photos are now fixed)!
Which template are you using?
Just singed up with Photobiz today, and I'm already awed by the level of customer service (I had a hellish experience with BluDomain). So far I'm loving everything about Photobiz.

Not sure if this helps, but I use Photobiz for my shopping cart and found the images were AWFUL. When I called them they told me to upload in IE not Firefox as something isn't compatible with FF. Once I switched to IE they look great.

I have a photobiz site and the image quality is fine. Try resizing the image yourself instead of letting photobiz do it for you.

If it's a free site most likely they are trying to save costs on bandwidth by converting the images to a lower resolution. Maybe your images are too large and the downsize function is swashing the detail.

dude... yo uhave no idea. I tried EVERY freakin size.. it is fine but i's worse than photobucket, which is unacceptible. THe pics look worse than on POTN. cmon now. There should be no compression but the size limit - say JPG quality of 11, 800x600 or 1000 on the long side. It's a PORTFOLIO website. Pics should look their best. Just like a resume on an expensive paper.

Has it been fixed or are they still funky? I just checked and they look great to me.
I think it depends too on your screen size and resolution. Like if you zoom into a compressed photo too much it degrades quickly.
I use them and they seem great so far. Their support team is top notch, too.

Misha - your photos look just fine to me. If it helps any, Photobiz recommends that you upload photos that are 1500 x 865 pixels. I do NOT use the auto-crop (except for my logo). Have you tried that?

yeah i have photos of that crop - but the crop itself is redicolous, its too narrow

Well, now that I've read your sig file I'm guessing you won't be happy with much of anything.
I'd ask Photobiz for a refund, and I'm sure they'd oblige.
You should simply build your own site so that you've got nobody to blame but yourself Misha.

ok I think we are getting a tad too personal. You decided that my sig represents my entire psychological portrait. dude, are you serious??
Just GOOGLE Bill Hicks. It will all fall into place for ya. Anyway...
Photobiz is a porfolio web service for photographers. They should know that the photographers like their stuff sharp, clean and nice... I don't care for a refund, and this is not a b345tch fest. Just trying to figure it all out. Ilove everything about them except the iq issue..

Hey I was just kidding around Misha, and really - I was trying to be helpful.
I hope you get the problem fixed, and good luck :)
