After getting back from my vacation a few months ago I tried downloading the pictures to my laptop (DPP). It was taking a very long time doing this so I stopped the action and removed the card from the reader. Put it back in the camera (7D) and it said no images found :eek: Quickly placed it back into the reader and saw all the files missing and had the names with funny characters. At that moment I knew something got screwed. So I fired up one of the resecue programs and was able to recover most of the images but some were corrupt.
Now I tried formatting the card in the camera and was successful but I noticed that after taking one picture the active LED stays on for a few seconds (~10sec) where as before it was a second or two. Reformatted it agin in the camera, same thing. Formatted it in the laptop and got an error saying it cannot be formatted >:( Now it can't be recognized in the camera or the laptop (doesn't show up).
Is it pooched?? Only had it for a few months (3 tops). It's the Transcend 8GB 600X.
