Folks

Went to the next round of the UK Drifting champs yesterday at Wildtracks in suffolk , Uk.
Managed to get myself a press pass with access all area's too. Cool :D

I was a photog for one of the teams called Driftworks, here is a couple of pictures of the lads in action

For those that do not know, Drifting is a motor sport where the drivers lose rear end traction and slide the car into and out of a series of corners. Speed and Style is judged on with race off's and Duel Drifting to decide the winners. It really is fast and furious fun , loads of burning tyres and smoke. Apparently its big in Japan

Anyway 2 shots from yesterday only another 280 shots to process ....hmm

Any comments would be welcomed. good or bad
Cheers

I like the low angle on the first shot. Needs more tyre smoke though ;)
I'm hoping to get to some of the D1 events later in the year. Having seen the demo run by Nobuteru Taniguchi at Brands I'm intrigued to see more - especially when they drift in pairs!

i love 200sx's like you wouldn't believe

but the only reason i hate drifting, is because no one looks after their cars! lol, after that stack it, they never do a proper job fixing it
always bits missing or huge scratches and all dirty etc

even the burnout comp cars are shiny and well presented, but drift cars just sticky tape things and hammer panels back into shape haha

thanks for sharing

There is a D1 event this weekend at Silverstone, I was thinking of going and taking some pics ... really like the S15.

There is a guy with a grey 200sx s14 that lives down the road from me with autoglym stickers on it. Must have been at some of the events.

Was that the demo run at Brands Hatch where he oh-so-skillfully drifted off the track and wrecked the rear of his car? :p

One of them buried it in the kitty-litter at Silverstone during the BTCC lunch hour too...much laughter ensued :D

Not from the marshals I imagine... having to extract some pratt from a gravel trap during their lunch break will not have amused them! ;)

I'm sure the air turned blue but the Sigma wasn't quite good enough to detect that sort of colour ;)

both shots are very well captures!!

i shoot a LOT of drifting (usually every weekend), and have really refined my technique for shooting it. You seem to have it down pretty well.

If you need help in getting media passes, or would like to showcase your work from an event, feel free to let me know.
