Hi..Could someone show me how they would edit this photo. I would specifically like to redue the skin glare and even the skin color.
I have PS Elements.

Here is what I came up with using Curves, Levels, Shadow/Highlights and some selected blur. I use Photoshop and never have used Elements so I really can't tell if these features are available in there or not. I did a quick 3 minutes sample job so didn't care if my blur was in boundary or not.

The clone tool can work wonders... Set the clone brush to "Darken" and it'll only affect the brigther parts when you clone over the hightlights.

I use a different method I zoom in on the effected parts that I want to change then use the smudge tool to take out the shine. Start with a low setting like 20% strong. This is using elements which came with the 10D

If you have Elements 3 and can get hold of Scott Kelbey's "Photoshop Elements 3 Book", he has specific instructions for "removing hot spots." I don't think it proper I plagarize his book here.:D

I used Curves, Levels, Shadow/Highlights to bring out a few more details in the image. I duped the laer and applied heavy (4 I think) gaussian blur. Aded layer mask on the blurrer (2nd) layer and painted on the layer mask using 30 opacity brush.

If you want to know how to use these tools and are willing to spend a little time learning, I would highly recommend looking up some tutorials on the web. If you do not have Photoshop, you can always download the trial version to try these tutorials out.
