Just a couple of shots of our cat, Lily. I've just been fooling around with photography and am getting addicted. I don't have any experience with photoshop and PP but am looking into taking some courses and getting some books. Give me some feedback...

watch your backgrounds. Each shot you posted here has a very busy background.

What do you mean by busy? Taking away from the subject of the shot?

I mean busy as the backgrounds take away from the subject (the viewers eyes start to look around the background instead of focusing on the subject) when finding an angle to shoot from take a second to see what's behind your subject. Remember that the background of the picture is just as important as the subject.
You're off to an excellent start keep shooting!

I love the composition and background of the first shot. I think the background actually adds a lot to that one. I wish the eye was a bit sharper but otherwise nice shot. I agree that with the 2nd and 3rd the background is distracting. Keep it up!
