I am not pleased with my post processing of these images. I think I have gotten fat and lazy from doing so much baseball team pictures. Processing for those is quick and dirty. I was hoping for better results from this shoot. It was a difficult job since the young lady had a fake tan that made her skin look orange and very hard to manage hair. Please tell me what you find wrong with them.

I purposely chose to show you some of the ones I find most problematic. There are others. The ones by the beach made things more difficult as the setting sun was adding to the orange color. Should I scrap them and start over from my RAW files?

Here are all of them if you want to see them: http://www.shareapicture.com/veronaphoto/20050612Ciara/index.htm

Hi,
#1 did you over do the healing tool by her head? it looks like a repetitve pattern instead of natural. Also, that pose is not flattering to her nose. Sorry, but at the angle it is shot, it is not attractive.

2. Her hand is an awkward position and her dress blends into the water

3, 4 These are nice shots, but I don't think the dress is flattering in the bodice area. I know that has nothing to do with the photography, but just stating why they don't work for me. I am not being critical of the model, though.

5. She looks mad. If she had a more pleasant expression,

6. I really like this one alot. Do you have one that is not as tight so that her toes will show?

7. I like her expression in this one a lot. Have you tried to do a very tight crop - like her face, a little shoulder? I sort of played with some paper on screen and I like it.

8.Again, she looks unhappy. On this one, the fake orange tan shows on her shoulders and back in the shadows of her hair.

Out of all of them, 6 is my favorite.

orange color is what I want. I would play witht the settings like contrast and brightness, throw some USM. I have photos that start off kind of plain, then when i'm done even amaze me. none of us can tell you what to do, photography is an art, you just do what you pleases you. if people like it, great, if they don't, great. =)

Thanks Pam. I appreciate the critism. As far as the blotchiness on her forehead, it is actually there and I will clean it up on the final pictures that I print for her.

Again, I really appreciate your time.

In #5 & 7 the backgrounds are a bit distracting. I notice it because this is where many of my pics fail (you teach best that which you most need to learn). Maybe a lower or higher angle for 5 and come cloning work to get rid of the red thingy and the parasail in 7.

I like #1 & #6 a lot.

Hi Ovi,
I don't mean her forehead on photo one. It cold be the compression, but in the green to the left of her head it looks rippled - not natural. I thought maybe you took something out there an dtried tocover it up with the clone or healing tool. I have done that before and not realized it until later. I bet she will like several of these shots.

Pam,

You are absolutely correct. I got rid of some seriously bad flyaway hair. I see the ripple you are talking about. I had not noticed it. Thanks.

Roach,

Thanks for the great input.
