Hello all:

I got a wedding to shoot yesterday. I set up a small studio at the church with my 2
photogenic powerlight 1250DR. I connect first powerlight to a Quantum Radio REceiver.
I connect the sender to the 10D. When I take the picture, the sender sends signal to the receiver to trigger the 1st powerlight. The flash come from this 1st powerlight triggers the 2nd powerlight.

The problem is: the flash comes from any amateur's camera can trigger my second powerlight.

Is there anyway to prevent this? I know I have to hook the 2nd powerlight to another Quantum Receiver, but this is too expensive. It is kind of hard to tell people not to take pictures using my pose and my background set up.

I don't mind people taking picture, but it would trigger my flash.
Thanks.

that's really your only option, AFAIK.

I was at a shoot for work in a pro studio and they told us that we could take pics, but no flash photography since the background light was on a slave and it would set it off.

Thank you buddy. That was what I thought. I am looking for another receiver.

How far away do you usually have the 2nd flash? In a controlled situation, you could hard-wire it.

Bloo:
Please see image.
I am not sure if this will work or it will damage my Radio Slave receiver or Powerlight or both.

Instead of connecting pc cord to one Powerlight, I split it into 2 and connect 2 powerlight into a pc cord. I hope the image make sense to you. I may want to ask Quantum to see what they think.

thank you.
