In my opinion, the $90 could be put to better use: i.e. a bag, funds toward a tripod, etc etc.
Yes, I do see a slight advantage of using the expodisc for more pleasing skin tones, but the white balance cap does it's job.
I now have enough proof to move away from auto wb while indoors. The only issue that i would run into would be introducing a second light source (flash) which would undo the custom white balance set in camera.
One gripe is that canon does not make white balancing an easy process. It involves taking a picture, pressing two buttons, then switching to custom wb. that's 15 seconds wasted.
