Having fun catching the birds on this fence when the sun is almost gone(what little there is anyway).

Thanks--einsteinsauntie and cfc!
cfc--yes, I kinda like the expression on thast bird's face too.
I am trying to get a little series of finches (purple, goldfinch, etc) taken on that fence in the filtered light. They print beautifully as 5X7's--so I thought they would make nice little accent prints.

Normally, we like our bird photos in a more natural setting, like on a tree branch.
For this one, however, I think the reflection/texture of the steel fence is fine.

I like it!
Who says you always have to follow the rule of thirds!
The vertical fence lines guide your eyes to the bird and also goes well with the vertical lines of your frame.
Nice Capture and nice composition.

I'm collecting woodpecker shots to make a woodpecker collage, but so far i only managed to find Red-headed wp, and red-bellied wp. Hopefully i can add Downy and Ladder-backed soon. ;)

Thanks, Bob :)
Yes, I agree that I like the more natural settings too--but this fence does seem to add some character to the photo. It is just a plain old red-top field fence.

That neat! I have a hard time getting shots of any woodpeckers around here. I always come upon them when I don't have the camera and when I am least expecting to see them.
