Hi,

Am planning on getting a 7D for my travels.. see sig website..

This is getting far too expensive for me though..

I was looking at the DSLR Tactical Shooter by Zacuto for steady footage.. i looked at the price to almost have a heart attack! Around $1,117.00 for some metal!!

So am planning to make my own, maybe a modified monopod with extra contact points.

Any other tips to bring the cost of this down??

Thanks

You have a link? Sorry, not familiar with the product. I suppose if you're a handy metal worker and good with fabrication you could come up with something adequate. The concern is always safety of attachment, ease of use and ergonomics.

Seems very lightweight..... but appears cumbersome and awkward, without having actually tried it. I always go for simple myself so I'd really have to have need for something like this to consider purchasing. Sorry - can't really advise you one way or another; perhaps others here with more experience.

No probs, thanks..

I think it would come in handy for my "on the go" trip but am not paying that price!

I may have missed this part, but how does it store when not in use? Is it a space hog? I hike a modest amount, but have always just gotten away with straps and a holster bag; all lightweight and compact.

No probs, thanks..

Am not too sure.. i know there is a video on there website 10 mins long explaining "why it is so good".. Might be worth a look..

I have not used one or ever seen one yet so I don't know anything about it..

Still researching it ;)
