Is it possible to print your own postcards at home? I guess you'd need photographic paper, with the standard area on the back pre-printed. Does such a thing exist? Google just gave me back a bunch of links to companies that wanted to do it for me, for a fee, of course.

I do not really see the need for a preprinted back. You can just write the address, and any comment in the back pf the pic, stamp and mail it in. Should work fine, at least it does here.

Photo paper isn't usually as heavy duty as postcards, plus I would like the pre-printed back, or even just be able to print it myself. You can't print on the back of standard photo paper, the ink just doesn't dry, ever - I did it by mistake once.

I thought I saw that HP had a postcard package for sale for inkjet printers.

They do, thanks! :) Link to them here (http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/product_detail.do?product_code=Q5513A). Now I just have to find somewhere in NZ that stocks them...

I have the Canon CP-200 printer. It's dye-sublimation and also puts on a layer of clear coat that is water proof. All the paper is preprinted with postcard stuff on the back -- line down the middle, lines for address, and little stamp area. I think this is what you're looking for.

Thanks Chazs, but I don't want to have to buy a new printer to print postcards! I'll find the HP paper somewhere.

I understand, but for $20 bucks you can get one on Ebay; plus it's portable. Certainly impresses the relatives when you visit. ;)
