Black Diamond Series Tripods - Good?

I am on a budget and would like any opinions on the following:

Black Diamond CF500 - 66" w BH8 Ball Head - Carbon Fiber $199.00

or

Adorama Flashpoint 1228 with F# Ball Head - Carbon Fiber about $238.00

I want a sturdy tripod, that I can spread the legs out to get inches off the ground macro shots as well as normal scenic shots.

Any recommendations? Better suggestions. I really want to stay with carbon fiber.

Apparently not.

I have never heard of that brand (U.S. only, I guess), so I'll throw in a wholehearted recommendation for Giotto's instead, which I think would fit in your price band (allowing for the fact that I don't know the current £-$ rate). You're unlikely to find better for anything close to the same price.
