Okay, this is a little off-beat, but what I am looking to do is take IR pictures with my Rebel XT and NOT have to remove the IR filter from the lens to frame the shot. Focus is not an issue given subject distance and 17mm zoom setting.
My thinking is:
1.6 x 17mm = 27.2
A hotshoe mounted viewer around that value will provide reasonable framing.
Does this sound like something that will work? I've never heard of anyone using a rangefinder external viewfinder on a non-rangefinder camera's hotshoe. What do you think?
Thanks,
Dan
