I have had a Canon Rebel for years now and am looking at picking up a 20d and was wondering if I would be able to use those lens or if I would need to get new lens.
Thanks,
Jeremy

EF lenses will fit all Canon EOS cameras.

Just be aware that if you buy a EF-S lens for the 20D, it won't fit your Rebel.

The correct answer is: maybe yes, maybe no.
If it is a good standard Canon EF lens, then it is compatible.
If you have one of the other brands of EF-compatible lenses, then the answer is maybe. Some of the older non-Canon lenses will not work reliably with the new digital body. However, I know that Sigma and other brands have been sent back to the factory for a chip change on the lens's firmware, and that brings them up on compatibility. There are a few of the oldest non-Canon lenses that cannot be upgraded for firmware, however. A friend of mine got stuck with one of those oldest lenses, so it will not work on my 20D.

I will be going by Wolf Camera today and taking my lenses there to try them out and see for sure. I'm really not concerned about my 35-80mm working as it isn't the greatest lens, but I'm quite fond of the 70-210.

Dreamthrum,
as Bob gross mentioned, it might be possible that your Sigma lens needs re-chipping.
In that case, ask Sigma directly ... in general, camera shop people are neither known for their knowledgeability nor for their always putting the customer's interests above their own
The forum here is the better choice, most likely.
Best regards,
Andy

Both Digital Rebels and the 20D can use EF-S lenses (the only cameras so far compatible with them).

Wildman is correct.

There is a terminology problem that we get into. We need to speak of the film Rebel as a film Rebel, and not as just a Rebel, since the EF-S lens does not fit any EOS film camera.

Good point Bob - forget that a lot of folks are trying to take their exisiting lenses into the digital realm.
