just a quick note too say that the camadapter that allows you to have the e1 grip strap works extremely well and is very well built. handheld grip strap without the need of the battery grip. Sweet!

The "RC2" is a Manfrotto / Bogen quick release plate

Yeah Jim.. aside from the Arca.. which is obviously the most common QR system.. the RC2 would have to rank in the #2 position for popularity and user installed base.

It's the "much" more affordable option... but I fear it may be a harder part to machine than an arca compatible. (manfrotto cast's theres)

OK...I will get one of those plates and take a look at designing a Camdapter to work in that application

I bought one of these and it came in the mail yesterday. It is VERY well made and does the trick, with the grip strap.
