Canon 18-55 kit lens

Love my 18-55, it takes beautiful pictures and yes I do appreciate my expensive L lenses too. I see people running down their kit lenses but seriously doubt that they could select which lens took the picture. Could it be that there is some kind of snobbery around on the net? I think many people are just very spoiled and feel compelled to just spend their money, comments?

Yes, to a degree I agree with you - the kit lens takes photos that are close to the sharpness of my Tamron, and to be honest i'd be hard pressed to tell between them when a photo's taken well. The differences are in build quality, resistance to lens flare, and perhaps contrast and color rendition.
