I was trying to get a shot of a Monarch Butterfly when this wasp showed up and hassled it till it left I never heard of wasps doing that has anyone ever come across something similar post your favorite insect shots. I took this with my 70-200/2.8 and cropped it to give a better view of the 2 of them.My equipment 50D 70-200 /2.8 ,Sigma 28 1.8, and a 2x extender

I like them. I did notice that in each photo only one insect is in focus. It looks like you were just a couple stops off from capturing both of them in the same DOF.

Both shots have great appeal.

The problem I see is one of some subtle aspects of composition.
In #1 your critters are both facing out of the frame. Were they turned around 180 degrees so as to be facing into the frame, that would be considered much better.

Likewise, in #2, the wasp is looking into the frame and is well positioned, but the butterfly is too close to the center.

All of the above is nit picking, but in a close race, these points will be decisive.
