Is there a good solution to reducing the glare on the LCD screen of the XT while keeping it safe from scratches? I've seen a few things on e-bay, but I don't trust much on e-bay. Too many people on there trying to make a quick buck.

I use PDA-film. The best one I've ever seen, and currently have on one of my 10D's is the EXIM. Its expensive (like $10 for the set) but, its perfectly[ clear, no bubbles, and very easy to put on...also comes cut perfect to your camera...no making a template and cutting it out. It reduces some glare. Some people will tell you just to scratch your screen and replace it for $10 when you need to. Personally, I'd rather just replace a piece of film when needed, especially if it doesn't hurt the clarity at all...like the EXIM. I have cheaper PDA film on my other 10D and it works well, but it does negatively effect the image clarity a little bit.

It's only 10$ to replace the screen?
Either way, I'd rather not have to replace anything on my camera until absolutely necessary. No point in waiting for a scratch, at least this way I'll feel a little safer about the screen. I had an A80 and it was nice because I could toss it in my pocket and the screen was always protected.

I use the Hoodman LCD protector. It is made from acrylic plastic and goes on right over your lcd screen. It stays on with double sided tape and it is removable. I have used one on every camera I have had (10D, 20D, 1DMkII). It is asolutely clear, no distortion. I personally love it. Here is there website:
