I've been using Digital Media-SimpleTech cf cards, ordered another one, and they sent me a Dane-Elec card.

Is there a known quality, performamnce, or price difference between the two brands?

Hi DG
Just about everything you ever wanted to know, and maybe things you didn't, can be found at http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/multi_page.asp?cid=6007

All my 1GB CF cards are SanDisk Ultra II
Hope this helps.

Skip, thanks for the link... Man, that is WAY more cf info than I could ever use.

I searched this forum a little and a few people have had complaints about Dane cards.
Plus, its the principle of the thing.
This website had a photo of a Simpletech cf card, which is the brand I've been using, and I ordered expecting to get Simpletech.
It doesn't seem right for the retailer to send something other than what is pictured on their website.

I'm afraid I too have heard a number of horror stories about "Dane" CF cards... :(

I am awaiting a replacement DANE card as of now, that lost about 25% of its capacity that caused the camera to lock up whenever it got to that point. Out of several different brands and capacities of cards, this is the only problem I have had.

Hoorah! my replacement arrived. Very quick I might add. Now I have a whole whopping additional 64mb to use for my RAW shooting! :) Oh well, it was the principle of having something w/ a lifetime warranty go bad!
