Man ! Those must be really big flowers ! 'Cause DOF is very shallow !:)

The flower is about the size of a daisy. Is a shallow depth of field, bad or good and if its bad how could i make these better? I'm here to learn:)
I had my apeture at f8 so the focus would be on the flower and the rest would be blurred. Is that what you mean by shallow Dof?
Thank you soo much for commenting.
Cheers!

shallow DOF means...shallow DOF :) Indeed, to obtain only the subject in focus and the background (especially when is a close background) to be blured.
I thought those are bigger flower 'cause when I look at thw first one, only the petals are in focus.
I know A95 have a shallow DOF in macro mode (I'm a A95 user), but I didn't know is that shallow.
Also I'm quite impressed because you told you took those at f/8 and this is quite narrow aperture.
I'm always using the larger aperture possible in macro shots.
It would be interesting to see the EXIF info for those.
Also it would be interesting to know the distance of subject from the lens.

I think i dont have the exif anymore, cuz i cleared my camera and unless i open with the canon software, i will not get the exif info.
I was opening all my images directly as psd's in ps and the exif info would not transfer.
I will however retake the pictures and i took some others last night (and opened with the zoom browser that comes with canon) all the exif in tact, and post with exif info.
I love close up shots, they just plain fascinate me and i hope to get the most out of this great little a95:)
Thank you soo much for your comments and would love to share tips on the a95!
