I guess since you're in Australia this question should be obvious but aren't they running the wrong direction?

Depends what state of Australia your in, some states run clockwise, others run anti-clockwise. Here in NSW we run clockwise.

Nice action shot...what equipment were you using? I do a lot of horse racing and it's really difficult to get all the horses sharp unless you have some really fast glass so I typically pick out one horse and follow it with A1 Servo.

I love the contrast between the grass and the colors...something we don't get too much of in the US.

gmwinder,
"Nice action shot...what equipment were you using?"......The pic was taken with a 50D, Sigma 120-400 lens TV-1/1600 F-5 ISO 200

F5 would be tough to get all the action in focus...I've found I need f11 and 1/2000 which is really difficult without pumping up the ISO.

True, however on this ocassion is worked out for the best.....with that said, the focus could have been a slight more sharper!

Yep, there is just 1 state in our beautiful country that decided to run the wrong way. Well, maybe 2!:D
Macca, I'm not a fan of horse racing, however you shot a classic shot here. Well done.
