Just curious, I'm looking for a nice wooden flat-black studio/gallery frame, but in 16x24 size.. this is proving difficult to find.. the cheapest I've found is $40 here (http://www.pictureframes.com/scripts/WebObjects/PictureFrames.woa/wa/CustomColor?sec=Black&browse=Color&sku=HP4).
Any good sources for frames? Do custom frame shops run much more than that, I assume it'd be cheaper on the internet.

I get frames at "JobLot" "Christmas Tree SHop" and any other palce selling factory seconds and overstock items....

Oh and the Ritz Warehouse store near here.. unlike normal Ritz's it has discontinued and overstock (and even used) items for sale sometimes at very low prices. I've gotten very nice frames for as low as $3.00 for an 8"X12" (yes 12")

Thanks, I saw Michaels had "frame kits" that you put together, I thought that might be a cheaper option.. I'm sure I can pick up 1/8" plexi at home depot.. not sure if its worth dry mounting on foam core or not, the print from mpix isn't more than $15, and I think the foam core and dry mounting come out to $18 locally. any opinions? it's just for my use, not being sold to a customer.

Try these two places. They both appear to have 16x24 frames prices in the mid $20s.

American Frame (http://www.americanframe.com)
Light Impressions (http://lightimpressionsdirect.com)

You can get them dry mounted at mpix for just a few $ more. If you're framing a larger print, it's probably worth mounting on foam core. I just had a 16x24 print made and mounted at mpix. They did a nice job.

I was going to ask about that.. is that their double matboard option?
