Advise Needed

Hi,

Im new to Digital Photography and need some help.

I have a Sigma - 105mm 2.8 EX Macro Lens Canon AF and im looking to get my first digital SLR, im going to buy the eos 10d but realy want to make sure that my lenses will work with it.

Up until now i have only used 35mm and if anyone can reassure me that my lense will be ok with the eos 10d it would be much appreciated.

You will need to test it. Some older Sigma lenses are notorious for not workimg with the newer camera models. I've had 2 Sigma lenses, including the 105 macro that did not work with my 10D :(

Ok now im back to being worried but thanks for the warning

Some Sigma lenses can be "rechipped" to work with Canon Digital SLR's. Call Sigma to find out if yours is the one (if the case is that it doesnt work). It wont hurt anything to put it on.

if you can, just be prepared to buy another lens. i thought the ex lenses were fairly new? i would at least try it before anything. do you have a shop that you can bring your lens in and test it on a 10d before yo buy? that might also be an option. best of luck.
