I have been at this photography thing about 6 months and I know im still new to it. However recently I have been getting frustrated with the way my pics are turning out. I post and ask for advise, get the advise, use the advise and still don't get the picture I want. So I was just wondering if it is still because I'm still new, my gear isnt good enough(don't think it's this), or i'm just missing something.

When you say you're not getting the picture you want... in what aspect are you coming up short?
Your cameras have enough resolution that you should be able to crop quite a bit..
The other issue many people struggle with is color management. There is a whole sub forum dedicated to this with a lot of great people to help you.
3 notable 'rookie' mistakes:
1. Do your filenames begn in IMG or _MG? If it's the latter; your camera is set to the wrong colorspace.

2. Are you viewing your pictures online via Internet Explorer? IE is not color managed. Try Fire Fox.

3. Have you color calibrated your monitor? Seriously; people spend tons of money capturing images and refuse to calibrate their monitors... if you think you have color issues.. get some type of color calibrator... You can get the Spyder3express for 80.00 http://www.calibration-direct.com/prodexpress.html

Anything above this.. please give more specifics and examples.
Good Luck!
