For those using CyberSyncs w/battery power: how happy are you with the setup? If you were purchasing again, would you change to AC?
Thanks.

I use my CSs where there are no outlets, so I would not change to AC. The batteries in the CSs are size AA, so I have plenty of those available in my kit. I carry an extra wafer battery for the the transmitter.

No, in fact I would suggest sticking with the battery models. The batteries are long lived, easily replaced and like he said above, sometimes you are in places without power or you want to use them on a speedlite or another application not AC power dependent.

I'm going on 1 year with them and haven't had a battery go bad in any of my 4 battery powered units. With that said, I did trade one of my battery units for an A/C unit for when I shoot tourneys and might not use my lights for a few hours. It's nice to have them on all the time instead of having to climb up the bleachers (often folded up for the tourney) to wake up my receiver. This is also nice in that I just have to plug my strobes in the next morning, again not having to climb up and wake up the receivers. I'll be getting some more strobes in the coming months and I'll probably get 3 more A/C receivers to go along with my battery powered ones.

Sounds like there are advantages to both. How long do the receivers have before "going to sleep"?

About an hour, if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks Derek. I'll start with batteries and go from there.

I like both battery and AC units.
I have both battery power and AC units... it is so easy to take your speed lights and cyberSyncs put them in a back pack and go...
But there are times when you need more power. but then you would have to carry Strobes, light stands and battery power pack...
I hoping to take my WL strobes and power pack out to a BBall game next week..

I bought 3 CSR+ and 1 CSRB+ so I can use the CSRB+ with my 580ex2 if I want. Otherwise they're only on the AB lights so why not go with the CSR+.

The recievers don't use the button cells.

The CSRB(+) use AA batteries. The CST uses the flat / wafer / watch battery.
