Hi
Not sure if this belongs here. I sent in a photo I took of a celebrity in nyc sunday morning and sent it over to thesnitcherdesk.com .. They emailed me back and want me to take off the watermark so they can market the photo. Does anyone know if there a realiable website

I'd tell them "not without payment/legal contract for payment"

Yeah, I would not take the watermark off either. You don't want them to end up using/selling it without your permission.

It looks like they've been around for a few years. It also looks like a legitimate site, but with the internet the way it is, you just never know...

Wish me luck , I sent it in and they have sole permission up to 90 days to sell it if after that then its back into my hands..

If they sell it - what price will they put on it and what is your cut?

This is terrible business 101. You have no idea who or for what amount they're going to distribute it to, and if you give them permission without a written contract (no offense, but it doesn't sound like you have a lawyer working for you), then you basically gave it to them free. If you have a contract, if you wouldn't mind posting the basic restrictions, I'm sure it would be helpful to others. But if you gave them permission to sell it for 90 days, any money they make in that 90 days is theirs to keep, and more importantly, if you gave them the right to sell it without specific restrictions on what rights the buyers FROM THEM have, then they could have easily sold it as unlimited use and they can use it/sell it until the end of eternity.

this seems backwards. you have to give them a full res unaltered and unwatermarked image that they go and sell for 90 days then pay you 50% of the profit with out you ever knowing what they do with it until its to late

You probably won't get a lot of support in being a paparazzi here on POTN.

Its more of a hobby then anything, dont really have the time to be an actual paparazzi. I have a real job , its just at times might go out looking for celebrities. So I'm not looking to make big bucks. Shutterstock is fine thought right? just dont make much money from that 25cents per download
