I am new to shooting raw images,so I can use all the help I can get with my D60. I try to print a Tiff file in photoshop,but it says the picture is too large and it will have to crop it first. The other program I use doesn't even see the file! It says it is a 36meg file too. Can this be? HELP!!!!

There are two issues here, I think;

1) PS saying the image is too large - what's happening is that is is seeing the image dimensions and the resolution that has been "hard-coded" into the image by whatever conversion program you used. It then works out what size that will be in inches and decides it's too big for the paper your printer is set up to use. If you go into Image-Image Size it will tell you the dimensions in pixels, inches (cms, or whatever) and the Resolution. Untick the option to Resample Image, then type in a new resolution figure - the Document Size values will change to reflect the change, just make sure it's smaller than your paper size (or print area size, to be specific)

2) From the filesize you quote, I guess you've converted it as a 16-bit TIFF. Not all programs can read those. If the answer to (1) isn't what you want, then try converting to 8-bit TIFFS. They are half the size and most programs will be able to read them. However, if your other program also takes resolution into account for printing, it may give the same problem as i (1) above. Maybe your conversion program has an option to set the embedded resolution?
