Either he was hungry, or you were in his way, either way, I would have done just what you did, That is a fantastic capture. great shot.

Well done! Usually, if I see a snake they are moving very fast, they never pose for me!

Wow. I would go crazy if I see something like that in my front yard (typical NYer:D ), but I would still run to get my cam......
Nice shots.

...Usually, if I see a snake they are moving very fast...
Erm, usually if I see a snake, I'm the one moving fast, the other way. And usually with great, loud, braying hollers for help. :( I'm not good with snakes. Not good at all. But the shot is great...just scary. Shudder scary.

It's certainly not sure about the camera being shoved in its face...
Australian snakes normally don't pose like that. If they are in that defensive pose, they will either strike or move to one side. You have a half second to get in there and get the shot and hope they take the second option.

Very common snake around here... I have seen quite a few in my backyard this year. Maybe because we had such a mild winter? They come from the huge grass field behind the house.

Yes, Anaconda wanna-be... :D:D:D
