Caprock Canyons State Park is a great place for birding. We must have seen a dozen or more Roadrunners, but they are so quick and elusive my 300 mm reach just wasn't enough. Luckily, I managed to get a couple within range, but there's no picking your pose or background...just take what you can get.

Excellent shots of a fast moving bird. I've been told that they have been clocked running at 15MPH. So, the shots you took are even more amazing.

The second one is a classic Roadrunner pose. It is surveying for lizards to eat.

Nice shots, you needed the ACME camouflage netting and an ACME camera to get really close. Beep beep....... (am I just showing my age here?)

Great shots. Unlike ol' Wile E. you actually caught the Roadrunner. :-) !

Wow, nice captures Stan! I love #2. I have a few bird shots with the same exact pose. I hope i could get a RR shot like that one day. ;)

Great work.
We have those guys running all over the place here, but I've yet to get a decent shot of one. They don't like to stay in one place very long---probably because their feet get hot.
