Hi all! I need some advice on which bag to get...

I recently upgraded from a Rebel XT to a 7D, and my current bag just won't fit the bill anymore. I'd like to be able to carry what's in my current gear list and maybe have an extra lens spot for a future purchase (not a huge lens, something similar in size to my 17-55 or smaller)

I really like the look of the Crumpler X Million $ home and it seems from reading the reviews that people love the bag, but I have no idea which model would be adequate for my setup, and I don't know of any local places that might have them to see in person...

Is there another Brand/model that might have a similar look and quality of the Crumpler that I should consider as well? I don't want to spend $400 on a general carry around bag, but I also realize that this is what's protecting a lot of gear and don't want to go cheap/flimsy either.

Gear:
Body:
Canon 7D

Glass:
Canon EF-S 17-55 2.8 IS
Canon EF 70-200 4L
CanonEF 50 1.8 II

Light:
Canon 430EX II

Thanks so much!!

^ works. However I just sold my 6MDH because I personally don't like how the crumplers don't collapse very much even if you have nothing in them. I can be carrying body + 1 lens and it will look the same as carrying all my gear. I'm going for a Domke F-3X now. Just a heads up!

There are also Crumpler clones that are around $30, much cheaper than the authentic ones.

HAHAHAHAHA!!!! OMG, OMG....

I laugh so much because I think you have asked an IMPOSSIBLE question to answer. And I mean IMPOSSIBLE. It seems I have been buying camera bags for the past 25 years. It's actually gotten so serious that I had to BUILD A ROOM in my basement strictly for camera bags. If you saw my collection of bags at home your jaw would probably hit the floor (or one of my camera bags, since there isn't much floor space in that room anymore)....

And what am I getting for Christmas? A new Think Tank backpack.

Anyway, good luck on your bag purchase, I don't think I am the best person to advise you, since I do not own every single bag made- yet.

What you've listed should fit nicely in the Domke F3x nicely and give you a bit of room for growth. And Domke bags wear extremely well.

I have the crumpler clone (Versa Bag) and a Tamrac Pro 5 that would hold all that gear. Both bags are nice, the versa looks less like a camera bag

You might consider the Think Tank Urban Disguise 35. It has enough room for what you've said you needed, plus can hold a small laptop/magazines/etc.

If you don't carry a laptop you might look at the Think Tank Urban Disguise 40. I use that one with the following inside:

7D with 24-105L attached
70-200 f/4L with hood reversed
430 EX II
Two battery chargers
LumiQuest ProMax System
Expandable white/gray card
A few filters

There is still room to fit more as well. It's a good looking bag and doesn't scream "Hey I have a camera in here!"
