Colin
Your photo's are great. However, to give critique would be so tough as there are so many photo's.
Maybe one gallery at a time?

They lack a certain sense of personality. They are a little bit gray and grainy. Try using lower ISO films, a choose better days to take photos. Even if you choose a bad day the lower ISO film will compensate and still make the photos spectacular.

thewhitenite007n Thanks for your comments,
I will certainly try the lower ISO.
As far as a personality is concerned i am sure you are right, at the moment i am having fun trying what happens and have yet to develop a direction.
By the way I was very impressed by your own gallery

Thanks Colin for taking the time to look at my galleries. Yes I guess I am asking a lot! My favorite shot is titled Kinmel Bay in the Other Places gallery. Dont know why. http://www.pbase.com/image/12517455
Also the Queen's Park Suspension Bridge in the Around Chester gallery which was taken in the rain under a umbrella as the opportunity arose.

Well you can't control the weather
****************************
I think that all you have to do now is to work towards a stronger subject and related composition -- and keep the magic hours in mind.
In that respect:
* Tthe birds at the rock jetty are your best shot.
* The Easham Beach boats want to burst out, but there is just not enough line and frame to the image.
* Wiltham is the sleeper -- but gets lost in the scale of the scene -- at least at this screen size.
Remember the classic rules related to thirds, golden means, and movement:
-if you were closer to those barns
- if you could pick an angle with more roof line driving the movement
- if you could cut down the sky space
- if you could terain that brown-mauve-orange tone with sky-lite metal roofing
then, you would have a knock-em-dead winner.
Your guts are in touch here. Now it is a matter of makeing some break in image content and close-up.
Yes, I think that is so! I hope so anyway.
HOWIE
PS:
One last thing. You have to keep your waterlines horizontal. There is no room for any error here.
