Playing around with some off camera flash. C&C welcomed and appreciated. Click through to the flickr page if you would like to see it larger.
Canon 40d 70-200mm f2.8 IS @ f8, 1/160 Triggered with ST-E2 1 - 580 EX II with lumiquest Softbox placed camera left to the side of the smoke 1 - 580 EX II bare strobe. Placed camera left 45 degrees behind smoke Black velvet backdrop 4 feet behind the smoke. Post Processing includes inversion, color layer, and crop.

Now that's one that I don't see no matter how many times I look. Rotated 90 degrees counter clockwise I see a dancer though.

The smoke is from jumbo insense sticks. Glad you like them

are you using a something to catch the smoke and then releasing it all at once to get the interesting shapes?
The last one is ghostly and very cool.

I just randomly create air currents to change the flow of the smoke and try to capture it when It is most interesting
