And loved it! I tried it on an EOS5, and made it SO much more confortable! Now I have to get myself one... but B&H are out of stock :( Is that because they're releasing the updated version without the problems of the first one?

Grip and handstrap are great accessories. Highly recommended as they just improve handling so much, especially with larger lenses... both for shooting and carrying around.

Only bought my grip because I couldn't obtain a black 300D without one. For the first few months, hardly bothered with it but, after going out and about with it attached to my camera, I seldom remove it, as it really does balance the camera and makes taking vertical shots so much easier now that I've got used to locating the viewfinder with my eye.

Anyone know if B&H are out of stock until Canon fix the grips, or is it just that they've run out?

I didn't really like mine initially – it makes things very big with a relatively small lens (like an 85mm prime which I had then). However, I paid for it and was going to use it and it's never been off. I really like it now and it would feel very strange to remove it.
It also has great 'street appeal' if that is important to you.

I think I'd like using a Grip. I shoot vertical a *lot*, and it'd be very useful. However, it's black and my drebel is silver. And I really believe I'm going to move up to a 20D or 20D-sucessor soon, so I don't know if it's worth it.
Hm. Maybe I'll just find one used...

you would have to pry mine from my cold dead hands.. it's been on my 300d since day 1 and I've never taken it off since.

Personally, I love mines, both on the XT and the 20D.

Welcome to the club Tim. Sorry I can't answer your question, it's just seems that every time a grip is mentioned owners feel compelled to chime in about how much they love their's and I'm no different!
KevC--I have a black grip on a silver Reb and I think it looks fine. Of course I'm not too concerned with appearances or I guess I wouldn't have a silver Reb...

I must be the only person in the world who PREFFERED the silver 300D!! Also, the grip looks great on a silver body.

I love the grip... if I got a 20D, I'd even be willing to deal with the issues to HAVE the grip. I like black/black/black stuff but wasnt willing to pay 100 more for a black 300D when for 150 more I couldve gotten a 10D.
the black grip looks perfectly fine (good, even) on the silver 300D
