Hey all,
I just wanted to let all of my WG family know that I have recently been made Portland, Oregon's Photography Examiner (http://www.examiner.com/x-32308-Portland-Photography-Examiner) from the folks over at Examiner.com (http://www.examiner.com/).
What is an Examiner you say?
They are a person that (through an application process) has been determined to be an expert in their field in their local geographical area. As such, I have been asked to write for them about said field: photography. Basically, I'm am an article writer for a national online newspaper.
The cool thing I see about writing for them is: I get to write about whatever I want, as long as it relates to photography. I find I work better when not burdened by restrictions :D . In addition to that, anyone can read my stuff, not just those in my local area. Sweet!
As of this week, I have written three articles and am getting a fair amount of views, I guess, but would love it if my POTN fam would read my articles as well. You can post comments on them and, ideally, subscribe (http://www.examiner.com/x-32308-Portland-Photography-Examiner#fragment-3) to my area to be informed each time I post something new. (that SUBSCRIBE link may not work, so it would be better to just click on the one next to the image of me at my examiner area :D)
What I would like from you folks is this:
Aside from subscribing to my area, I would love suggestions for upcoming articles. You can just put them in this thread. That way I know what it is that people want to read about. It helps me and you. I get to write and you get your questions answered, as it were.
If you are wondering, I do get paid for this, but only on a 'read' basis. That is: I (think) it is based off of each articles view read per IP address, per day. That means refreshing an article 100 times will still only count as 1 read because they came from the same computer. A friend tried that, and all it did was drive the count up but not the read count.
Here is where to find my area: Beau's Examiner Profile: Where to read and subscribe (http://www.examiner.com/x-32308-Portland-Photography-Examiner).
Once again, I want to thank you all ... and I look forward to your suggestions.
