Did it... new 20d on the way. The old 10d was wearing out - exposure metering shot - battery trigger release died at the USOpen... it is now my backup... and a 20d for under 1K out the door. Thanks for the lead.

I think it has to do with additional discount given because my employeer has a preferred partner arrangement. I wasn't going to pull the trigger - but when the total came up - I couldn't resist. Now I have another box to explain... though this time it is coming from Dell so most likely the spouse will think it is work releated.
